A number of ‘MBO’ institutions (secondary vocational education) in the Netherlands have joined forces to work on strengthening vocational education on the islands and student success in ‘MBO’, and better guide the transition to higher professional education and increase the student success of Caribbean students.
Each island has a so-called Education and Labor Market Council, or a similar body. The Education and Labor Market Councils are committed to improving the alignment between education and the labor market and conduct research on trends and developments.
A good transition to further education starts with strong guidance at school. Deans and referrers from the islands meet each other in the Caribbean Network of Deans, share knowledge and coordinate.
