DESCRIPTION:Diaspora Dialogues is a series of programs created by Pakhuis de Zwijger where we offer a platform to underrepresented diasporas within Amsterdam and the Netherlands. We collaborate with members of diasporas to create space for (sensitive) discussions about topics relevant to the community and their shared experiences in the Netherlands. The lived experiences and perspectives of the diaspora are central\, without having to conform to the norm. Because the purpose of the Diaspora Dialogues is to give various diasporas space for an open\, constructive\, and honest dialogue\, we adhere to the following guidelines: We acknowledge that these conversations can become uncomfortable\, so we explicitly agree to handle that discomfort constructively together.We believe in the power of multiple voices and are committed to promoting an environment where everyone feels encouraged to share their perspectives.IMPORTANT: We also encourage all attendees to first give space to the present members of the invited diaspora during the conversation.
